CHIMERA SERIES
The interpretation of an abstract form automatically reveals part of what is hidden within a person.
This exploration connects traditional silver gelatin paper printing techniques with the recent evolution of digital tools.
Actions are the same as they were 100 years ago: shooting, developing, cutting, assembling, layering, color corrections, etc. The only difference is the digital tool, used instead of paper and chemicals.
The creations reveal the effect of the work on the unconscious, which manifests instinctively. They confront the viewer with their relationship to their being, body, values, beliefs, and feelings.
The symmetrical composition naturally refers to the work of psychiatrist Hermann Rorschach. His method, published in 1921, uses white cards with symmetrical black paint stains. His study focused on how the mind functions through the interpretation of abstract forms. He observed a correlation between the responses of his patients.
“The psychological profile of a person can be assessed based on their way of processing visual information.”
— Hermann Rorschach.
